Helping Children Climb to New Heights
In 1997, a group of child psychiatrists recognized a need. Houston lacked a quality, early-intervention program for children, so they created one. The Harris School (THS) is named in honor of founding physician Hunter Harris, MD. More than 20 years later, THS continues to offer behavioral, emotional and academic services for kids from PreK3 through grade 6.
Due to Covid-19, THS now offers a virtual tour to limit the number of individuals coming in contact with students. In-person tours are reserved for prospective families and can be requested at
713-526-2046 or info@TheHarrisSchool.org.
To provide individualized academic and therapeutic interventions to teach new skills, promote effective patterns of behavior and improve quality of life for young children and their families.
To enhance each student's learning and emotional progress through cooperative learning and collaboration. We strive to guide students and provide them with appropriate knowledge to excel as individuals in the community.
We believe all children can achieve success and have purpose. Using a team approach, we work with families and caregivers to promote healthy social/emotional development.
